Step 1

In a stand mixer, beat flour, beer, oil, egg yolks and a pinch of salt until smooth. Transfer to refrigerator and allow to rest for approx. 30 min.

Beat egg whites and sugar in a stand mixer until stiff and doubled in volume.

Carefully fold the beaten egg whites into the batter.

Peel and core apples.Then, cut into slices one finger-width thick.

Dredge apple slices in batter and lightly shake off any excess.

In a large frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Fry apple fritters for approx. 1 – 2 min. per side or until golden brown. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate and dust with confectioner’s sugar, if desired. Enjoy them while they’re hot!
